It was a crisp, fall October morning as ladies across Metro Vancouver layered up to brave the frosty day that lay ahead of them. With temperatures dropping to sub zero, they left their homes bright and early on the 24th donning their favorite pink accessory and excited to participate in the 1st ever Porsche Pink Parade! A lifestyle drive dedicated to not only raising awareness for Breast Cancer but also raising funds for the BC Cancer Foundation, Porsche Pink Parade is in its 1st year and encourages women-Porsche owners to get behind the wheel and sports car together for a cause. They can be accompanied by their spouse, best friend, family member or furry friend too.

The day started in Tsawwassen and surely not without a steaming hot cup of Timmies Double-Double to get those systems all warmed up. As the pretty pink shield decals were carefully installed on each Porsche, the excitement kept building as the ladies couldn’t wait to hop into their cars and hit the road. The picturesque route had some beautiful views to offer as the road led to the quaint and quirky Township of Fort Langley. A convoy of 17 Porsche’s driving through town made some stop and stare, while others quickly whipped out their phone camera’s to post to Instagram! Hitting Highway 1, the convoy drove all the way to Vancouver, cruising through Downtown and with the final stop at the Planetarium for a group picture to remember.
As the number of women-owned Porsche’s continues to grow year on year, it’s a definitive statement that a diversified sports-caring community is on the horizon. Porsche Pink Parade managed to raise over $5000 that will be matched and donated to the BC Cancer Foundation and this couldn’t have been possible without the determination and perseverance of the members of the Porsche Club of America Canada Western Region (PCACWR) and Weissach Group Vancouver. As the drive came to an end and the convoy slowly broke off and went their separate ways, they knew in their hearts that it is only together that we are tougher than Cancer!
