News and Events

We have had the privilege of hosting our monthly summer event, Cars & Coffee, for many years now. And, we have to say that this weekends event was one of our best turnouts to date.

We saw an assortment of new, classic, and unique vehicles from across Vancouver. Despite a gloomy start, the response we received from our attendees was nothing but positive. We would like to send out a huge THANK YOU to all of those that continue to support our events. We raised a significant amount of donations for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. Their mission is to create empowering environments that provide and promote access to healthy food, education and training. To find out how you can help further, click here. Pemberton Day Drive 2017

Summer driving season is in full effect!

We spent last Saturday, July 15th on an incredible drive: the Pemberton Day Drive. This annual charity drive brings out several participants on a beautiful drive from downtown Vancouver, up and through the Sea-to-Sky, and on to sunny Pemberton.

This drive began at our Weissach Clubhouse early Saturday morning. After coffee, light breakfast, and an informative drivers meeting we set off towards our destination.

After crossing the mighty Lions Gate Bridge, we went on to the windy Sea-to-Sky highway to reach our first stop, Cypress Bowl. If you’ve never driven the road up to Cypress Bowl, you should. Not stopping at the [...]

Le Mans 24hr Finish Breakfast & Dundarave Porsche Show & Ride

We came together for an early morning (EARLY morning) coffee and light breakfast at our Weissach Showroom on Sunday to watch the last hour of the incredible Le Mans 24hr Endurance Race. We witnessed Porsche take their nineteenth win in the history of Le Mans, as well as their third victory in a row. Cheers of triumph rang throughout our showroom during the last few minutes of the race, an amazing sight to see.

Still riding the high of a Porsche victory, we headed off to another annual spectacle, the Dundarave Porsche Show & Ride in West Vancouver – a fifteen-year Weissach Father’s Day tradition.

Weissach Motorsport Driver Education Track Day @ Area 27 Incredible: This is how we would describe this past weekend. Natural talent and pure adrenaline came forth in all of our drivers and we could not have asked for a better outcome.

This event started late morning on Saturday, May 27th with a majority of our drivers convoying together from the Lower Mainland up to beautiful Osoyoos. With a quick pit-stop in Princeton, the crew travelled further and arrived, mid-afternoon, to the spectacular Spirit Ridge resort. After freshening up and relaxing after a long drive, the group got together in a private banquet hall for a filling, BBQ-style dinner and an itinerary refresh by our crew of skilled instructors.

Early Sunday morning came quickly. After breakfast our group gathered together and traveled, convoy-style, to Oliver, [...]

Porsche 1,000,000th 911 sports car rolls off the production line

Porsche makes its 1,000,000th 911 sports car and it is magnificent.

Vehicle number ‘one-million’ rolled off the company’s Zuffenhausen production line, trimmed specially to reflect the first 911 from 1963, with Dr. Wolfgang Porsche sat in the driver’s seat. It’s painted in an attractive ‘irish’ green colour, with trim and badging contrasting in gold, and a luxurious interior featuring a houndstooth seat trim, plus a wooden steering wheel.

Based on a 911 ‘Carrera S’, the 1,000,000th Porsche ‘911’ is powered by a 414 bhp turbocharged engine and is capable of 191 mph, while accelerating from 0-62 mph in 4.3 s.

Purist-Porsche-fans can also relax – it’s mated to a manual gearbox. The ‘911’ vehicle ‘one’ was powered by a 128 bhp, reaching a top speed of 131 mph with an 8.3 sec 0-62 time. Quickly establishing itself as an icon of ’60s cool. Now, it is considered as symbolic of all things related to Germany and automobiles. Over half of Porsche’s [...]

The RUF Yellow Bird: The inside story on why it flies again

Alois Ruf explains why his company ressurected its icon.

RUF surprised us a few days before the show opened its doors by announcing plans to propel one of its signature models – the 1987 CTR, also known as the RUF Yellow Bird – into the 21st century. Company boss Alois Ruf sat down with Autoblog to explain why the time is right to release a modern-day Yellow Bird, and why it’s already a smash hit.

The Geneva Motor Show is like a compilation album of greatest hits from the world’s most exclusive automakers, so it’s difficult for smaller companies to stand out and capture the attention of show-goers. Just ask Alpina, Rimac, or even Morgan. Storied German brand RUF is the exception to the rule this year.

Autoblog: What made you decide to bring the Yellow Bird back this year?

Alois Ruf: The most obvious reason was to celebrate [...]
