1974 Porsche 911 Targa 2.7 S
Vehicle has Sold
This rare Vancouver car was delivered to Capilano Volkswagen on July 18, 1974. Originally purchased by a local Porsche Club of America member, this Porsche was acquired by the previous owner on Mar. 23, 1983 and has been serviced by Weissach since then.
The car underwent a complete body restoration from 1984-1987. The chassis was mounted on a rotisserie and stripped; all rusted areas were repaired; new interior; new rubber trim; new chrome; new lights, restored gauges and stainless fasteners were used throughout the car. The car has been garage-kept and can best be described as driven in dry weather only since then. A complete mechanical restoration was begun in 2008 with the motor rebuilt to 911 S specs by Rothsport Racing in Tualatin, Oregon. The transmission was rebuilt and upgraded by Weissach and the suspension was totally re-done recently by the previous owner.
Odometer reads 152,109 miles
There are only 827 miles on the rebuilt, numbers matching, power-train and suspension. The brakes were upgraded to 911 S specs with the addition of early 70’s vintage Brembo aluminum front calipers. The torsion bars, shocks, sway bars, and rear trailing arms have been upgraded to allow for competitive auto-crossing and track day events. All suspension bushings are new, as are the wheel bearings, calipers, rotors, brake lines, emergency brakes and tires. The wheels have been upgraded from the originally delivered 6″ x 15″ cast aluminum ATS “Cookie Cutter” wheels to the iconic 6″ x 15” forged Fuchs alloys.
The seats have been re-trimmed and are in as new condition. The bumpers, valences, rocker panels and rear quarters have also recently been re-painted. This is an exceptionally clean vintage Targa with extensive records that has been owned by a Porsche enthusiast and Weissach customer for the past 32 years.
