A Koenigsegg Agera RS driven by factory driver, Niklas Lilja, achieved five new world records for a production vehicle on November 4th, 2017 in Nevada.
THE HIGHEST TOP SPEED FOR A PRODUCTION VEHICLE
Calculated using an average of two runs, one in either direction. The record speed achieved is 447.19 km/h (277.87 mph)
The 0-400-0 km/h run was completed in 33.29 seconds, beating the previous time of 36.44 seconds set by the same car in Denmark in October 2017.
FLYING KILOMETER ON A PUBLIC ROAD
The highest average speed for a flying kilometer on a public road, calculated after running the car in two directions – 445.63 km/h (276.9 mph)
FLYING MILE ON A PUBLIC ROAD
The highest average speed for a flying mile on a public road, calculated after running the car in two directions – 444.76 km/h (276.36 mph)
HIGHEST SPEED ACHIEVED ON A PUBLIC ROAD
Single direction recorded. Measured at 457.94 km/h (284.55 mph
Calculated using an average of two runs, one in either direction. The record speed achieved by the incredible Agera RS is 446.97 km/h (277.87 mph). Twelve mph quicker than the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and quicker than the 270.49 mph set by the Hennessey Venom. Factory test driver Niklas Lilja pushed the Agera RS to 284.55 mph in one direction on an 11-mile stretch of highway and then 271.9 mph on the second run, which had an uphill gradient.
The new Koenigsegg Agera RS has its focus set firmly on the track but is still perfect for regular use on the road. It uses advanced technology developed during the exclusive Koenigsegg One:1 program. This is all while maintaining all the functionality of previous S and R models. Such practicalities include a usable luggage compartment and a detachable hardtop that can be stowed internally at any time.
Agera RS enhancements include: advanced lightweight sound insulation, and all-new front splitter optimized for the track. For added downforce: front winglets, side skirts, advanced dynamic underbody flap system and a dynamically active rear spoiler. Downforce is now up to 450 kg at 250 km/h. The RS also features improved side air outlets behind the front wheels, increased power and a raised rpm limit.
Even with all this added functionality and equipment, they managed to lower the curb weight compared to the Agera S and R models. Thanks to the use of advanced composites and layup techniques developed during the One:1 program.
On top of the standard equipment, the Agera RS also offers the option to choose the Koenigsegg active and self-leveling chassis package. 3G connected Pre-Active chassis setups, alternative aero packages, active sound cancellation and much more.
The engine – as with the previous Agera S – has been optimized for regular pump gas and now puts out an incredible 1160 bhp on regular petrol. An astonishing 232 bhp per liter with perfect reliability.
In certain markets, the Agera RS can also be configured to run on E85 for even higher power levels. While the engine management system offers the ability to adjust on-the-fly to any fuel mix at any given time.
The Agera RS is the ultimate in road and track versatility now and in the future. It offers the most extreme performance available today and yet is fully road legal. Complying with safety standards and other necessary homologation requirements worldwide.
