After a good night sleep and a light breakfast on Sunday morning, drivers set off together to the race track approx 15 mins from the hotel. The rest of the day was only short of spectacular.

Koenigsegg has a vision of the future. In it, 1,500bhp hypercars have cloaking devices. They’re not only massively effective, rendering the car utterly invisible, but also activate almost instantaneously. Ingeniously, the system is linked to throttle position. So, say you’re being pursued through a dystopian city by a rampaging gang of social-media supercar baggers, all you have to do is briskly take the throttle to ooh, about 30 per cent, a puffy white cloud appears and all they’re showing on Periscope is the inside of that thick, choking cloud while, somewhere off in the distance, a plainly furious T rex is bellowing in pursuit of a hapless triceratops.
I have never experienced anything that bonfires its tyres like the Koenigsegg Regera. Anything. Despite the best tractive efforts of the vast 345-width Michelins, they’re as nothing in [...]

From the unmistakable roar of the engine to the legendary attention to detail, RUF cars are in a league of their own, and Vancouver and Calgary-based Weissach Performance Ltd. is proud to announce it has become Canada’s sole representative of RUF Automobile of Germany. RUF Automobile GmbH began its life in 1939 in Pfaffenhausen, Germany, and in 1981 became officially recognized as a manufacturer by the German Department of transport. In 1974, Alois Jr. Took control of the business from his father and founder Alois Ruf Sr, and inspired by his love of Porsche automobiles decided to start a Porsche repair and service shop. The company has since become the ultimate driver’s car proving that sports cars do not necessarily need to be without compromise.

If some of that last sentence didn’t make sense to you, here are the main players in this drama…..

Salinas, California (Saturday April 30, 2016) – Canadian Driver Damon Ockey drove the No. 09 Lamborghini of Calgary entry home in eight overall and second in class despite some mid-race challenges with the power-steering in his 620 HP Huracán.
“The race started out really well,” Ockey said. “I made my way up a couple of positions into first place in class. I came in for the pit stop and when I restarted the car my power steering was out. I was down a good second a lap after that. It was a great workout though. Ended up P2. I made it back into P1 at one point, but just wasn’t able to hold the position because of the power steering issue. Still, a fun race. We did pretty good. We’re going to get the car [...]

Lighter and more powerful than before, the redesigned Evora 400 is also faster and more sophisticated than any other Lotus in history, claim its creators. It’s been around for six years – this is not so much a face-lift as a reincarnation. Lotus says more than two-thirds of the parts are new. The Evora looks much the same from dead abeam, but the nose and tail are comprehensively new, and the cabin too. So is much of what’s underneath.
400 horses from a Toyota 3.5-litre V6 engine, which Lotus transmogrifies with its own supercharging, charge-cooling, intakes, exhaust and management. It’s an ever-alert beating heart to the car. At the front there are much bigger grilles designed into the nose, there not just to give the car a more thrusting appearance but also to allow [...]
